If you have read any of my reviews about movies with an emotional touch, you know that they make me such a mess. That is why I have postponed watching this for a long time. I wish I could say that I did not cry when I eventually did but before long I was finding tissue to wipe tears. This movie is highly emotional, I want to hear from someone who has watched it and not cried. It is based on a book with the same title. Those that have read the book say the movie did it justice, that is rear and a plus for this flick.
In this, two teens Hazel (Shailene Woodley) and Gus (Ansel Elgort) fall in love when they meet at a cancer support group. Gus is full of life, it is hard to tell that he his days alive are numbered and that he even has a prosthetic leg.
And though her every movement is with an oxygen tank, Hazel is one adventurous girl. Death seems to always be looming over them and they are ready to face it whenever they have to. But while they still have seconds on earth, they utilise each to the fullest. This movie made me pray for the days when cancer patients in Uganda will be given such chances to live. If you have no idea what it is like for those who battle cancer and their beloved, this will give you a glimpse and probably leave you teary too. Again, I want to hear from someone that watched this and did not get teary.
