The book Men are from Mars and women are from Venus makes many people create masculine and feminine appearances of the two planets. So what comes to your mind when you hear or think of Jupiter? Is it plants, animals or non-living things? These kinds of questions came to mind when I saw the title of the movie. I love watching the stars and the moon but this seemed like it was going to be nothing like that, only for me to find that Jupiter is instead a fine looking young woman. This is like a twisted Cinderella story. Jupiter (Mila Kunis) is leaving the ordinary life of a step child in a poor home. To earn a living, she cleans houses of the wealthy together with her aunt and mother. While there, her role is usually to scrub the toilets.
Her life is so miserable and every morning, her first wish is to have another life. One day, her wish comes true. She discovers that she belongs to another dynasty of super humans where she is the queen – the rightful and overall owner and ruler of the Earth.
She has the task to fight and protect the inhabitants of Earth who are faced with destruction by a break away dynasty. With the help of the handsome Caine (Channing Tatum) who rescued her, they fight the bad guys. This flicks’ acting and visuals are great, I wish I had watched it in 3D, it would have been an epic experience.
However, this movie’s originality is questionable, lots of scenes look like they have been picked from other movies like Green Lantern, but even, then sci-fi fans will absolutely enjoy watching this.
