Flavia Tumusiime appointed new head of broadcasting at NMG-Uganda

Flavia Tumusiime

Nation Media Group Uganda has appointed renowned media personality Flavia Tumusiime as the new Head of Broadcasting. With over 22 years of experience across television, radio, and digital platforms, Flavia brings deep expertise in content strategy, audience engagement, and digital transformation to the role.

Flavia’s extensive media career spans Uganda, Kenya, Ghana, and South Africa, making her a well-rounded leader equipped to steer NMG Uganda through the rapidly evolving media landscape. She began her career on WBS TV’s Teen’s Club before gaining recognition as the host of K-Files. Her talent and hard work led to continental fame through her roles in high-profile shows like the Guinness Football Challenge and Big Brother Africa. Flavia has also hosted on HOT100 FM and, most notably, Capital FM, where she became a household name in Uganda. She remained a dominant voice at Capital FM until her departure in August 2022, taking a break from mainstream media to focus on personal endeavors.

In her new role, Flavia will oversee the operations of NMG Uganda’s key broadcast brands, including NTV Uganda, Spark TV, Dembe FM, and KFM. She is tasked with developing innovative content strategies and guiding the company’s transition into a more digitally focused future. Her leadership will be pivotal in shaping the direction of the station’s radio and television output.

This appointment marks a significant return to mainstream media for Flavia after a brief hiatus. During her break, she focused on personal matters before returning to the media world to take on this leadership role. She takes over from Johnson Omollo, who left the position earlier this year. Flavia also follows in the footsteps of Agnes Konde, who served as Head of Broadcasting from 2013 to 2017.

Flavia’s appointment is a homecoming of sorts, as she is no stranger to the NMG family, having worked as a news anchor at NTV Uganda in the past. With her deep industry knowledge and a proven track record across major African markets, Flavia is well-positioned to lead NMG Uganda through its next chapter.

“We are thrilled to welcome Flavia Tumusiime Kabuura as the new Head of Broadcasting at Nation Media Group Uganda,” said NMG management. “Her extensive experience, her passion for impactful storytelling, and her expertise in audience engagement and digital transformation make her the perfect fit to lead our broadcasting division. We are confident that under her leadership, NMG Uganda will continue to innovate and remain a leader in the media space,” NMG-Uganda management wrote.

With her creativity, professionalism, and ability to connect with audiences, she is set to play a key role in shaping the future of Uganda’s broadcasting scene.
