It is not just Ramadhan but Lent season, which means there are acts of kindness going around. One of such was a gesture from renowned fashion designer Joe Malaika, who spread some hope and kindness with a generous donation of a prosthetic leg during his recent holiday in Uganda.
The lucky recipient of the donation was Joshua, a brave young cancer survivor who lost his leg to cancer complications. The US-based designer delivered the prosthetic leg to Joshua’s home in Bunga, a Kampala suburb, demonstrating his commitment to helping amputees.
The gesture is part of Malaika’s ongoing efforts to promote inclusivity and support those with limb differences as proven by his Boston-based fashion events. Last November, the designer behind the annual Excessive Fashion Show was recognised for his work at the Boston Fashion Awards, where he took home Boston’s top fashion honour.
