After a long hiatus, Fun Factory’s beloved comedy show Comedicine has made its return to NTV. The show resumed airing last week and will now be broadcast every Monday at 8 p.m.
Richard Tuwangye, one of Fun Factory’s directors, credits NTV for playing a pivotal role in launching Uganda’s comedy scene into the mainstream. “Back in February 2007, NTV began airing our sketches under a show we called Barbed Wire. Having it on such a widely accessible platform at 7:30 p.m. every Sunday sped up the comedy industry’s breakthrough significantly,” Tuwangye recalled.
He noted that being back on NTV brings a wave of nostalgia for both the team and their fans. More importantly, it aligns with their mission to reach and entertain audiences across the country. “It was a deliberate move to return to a local station that people can watch using free-to-air decoders,” he added.
