Vinka back with high-energy dancehall track

Vinka

While Elijah Kitaka was in Zanzibar building connections during the Trace Awards, Vinka was focused on her latest project, ‘Sirubala’—a high-energy dancehall track that perfectly showcases her signature sound.

Written by Yese Oman Rafiki and produced by Bangar Boi, Sirubala tells the story of a woman who’s deeply in love, dreaming about a man she can’t go a single day without seeing. The song’s visuals, directed by Marvin Musoke, bring this love story to life, while Steve Keys handled the mixing and mastering. Given its infectious beat and catchy lyrics, ‘Sirubala’ is poised to take over airwaves.

Vinka has firmly established herself as one of Uganda’s most consistent and successful female artistes over the past four years, with a string of back-to-back hits such as ‘Bailando’, ‘All Over You’, ‘Thank God’, ‘Batuleke’, and ‘Chekecha’. Her versatility, high-energy performances, and unique fusion of Afropop and dancehall have made her one of the most sought-after acts in the region.

Sirubala’ comes shortly after her contributions to Swangz Avenue’s All-Star Album, where tracks like Amin Dada and Wedding became fan favorites across the region. Vinka’s journey, from being a backup dancer to an artist manager, and ultimately to a globally recognized musician, continues to inspire many.

With ‘Sirubala’, Vinka proves once again that she’s a force to recon with.
