The much-anticipated Roast and Rhyme Ragga Nyam Nyam Edition, which was set to take place today, February 23, at Jahazi Pier, has been officially postponed, leaving fans disappointed. The announcement was made on Sunday morning by event organizers, Swangz Avenue, citing unforeseen circumstances as the reason behind the last-minute decision.
The event, which has gained a loyal following for blending live music, scenic outdoor experiences, and Uganda’s best barbecue, was expected to feature an electrifying lineup of some of the country’s biggest names in the music industry. Headliners included Swangz Avenue’s Winnie Nwagi, Karole Kasita, Fyno, Young Mulo, Bennie Gunter, and Sama Solja, all of whom were set to take the stage and thrill fans with their energetic performances.
However, in an official statement, Swangz Avenue revealed that due to circumstances beyond their control, they were forced to postpone the event. According to Julius Kyazze, one of the lead organizers, the decision was not an easy one, but it had to be made with the safety of revelers in mind.
“It was a tough last decision to make, but we had to consider the safety of everyone attending. We understand the disappointment, but this was necessary. A new date will be communicated soon,” Kyazze stated.

The news of the postponement has sparked a wave of disappointment among fans, many of whom had already made plans to attend. With the event’s reputation for delivering top-tier entertainment, a beautiful lakeside ambiance, and some of the best live performances, expectations had been high.
Social media platforms have since been flooded with reactions from eager attendees expressing their frustration, while others are holding on to hope that the rescheduled date will bring an even bigger and better experience.
“I was ready to dance, vibe, and enjoy some good roast, but now we have to wait. I just hope the new date is announced soon,” one disappointed fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Others, however, have applauded the organizers for prioritizing safety, emphasizing that while the postponement is unfortunate, it is better to wait than to risk any unforeseen dangers.
As one of Uganda’s most popular outdoor music and lifestyle events, Roast and Rhyme has built a strong reputation over the years. Organized by Swangz Avenue, the event is known for its unique blend of live band music, top-tier Ugandan artists, and an all-you-can-eat barbecue experience, attracting thousands of revelers with each edition.
While the organizers have not yet disclosed the specific reason for the postponement, their commitment to rescheduling ensures that fans will not miss out on what had been promised to be an unforgettable experience.
