Naava Grey, once an early ‘casualty’ of the Tusker Project Fame competition in 2008, proved that success doesn’t always follow the usual path. Despite being eliminated early in the competition, she is now one of Uganda’s premier music talents, showcasing her resilience and growth over the years.
On Friday, the singer marked a milestone, celebrating 14 years since the release of her hit song Nteredde, with an unforgettable performance at Kampala’s Serena Hotel Victoria Hall.
The musical concert was the perfect Valentine’s Day treat, with lovers flocking to the venue, which quickly filled to capacity.
Naava, known for her soulful voice, blended her signature live band performance with a full orchestra, creating a magical atmosphere for the crowd. Songs like Aliba Omu, Mirembe, Ndi Baawa, and Twala were elevated by the added depth of orchestral sound, while tracks like Ali Waani, I Do, Soka Lami, and Nteredde featured exciting choreography by her dancers.

However, the surprise of the night came when Uganda’s rising star Joshua Baraka joined Naava on stage to perform Ninga Omuloge, a track he had once covered before his breakthrough.
Adding to the surprises, the Warafiki trio delighted the crowd with their cover of KCI and Jojo’s All My Life, before performing their own hits Ntagala and Tetubafanana.
