At the end 2024, singer Maurice Kirya announced that he will be holding a concert on August 8, 2025. This was almost eight to ten months early, but that was not the only highlight in the post, the ticket is Shs350,000 and Shs 200,000 early bird.
He also added that the shows will be held at ISU or the International School of Uganda in Lubowa. There were many points of discussion with the news, why Lubowa and hey, that ticket bill.
At the beginning of the year, the artiste announced that his next album would be titled, It’s Happening, which would be a follow-up to the Road to Kirya, an album which seems to celebrate Maurice Kirya’s musical influences. On the album, he covers a lot of ground from funk, jazz, soul and storytelling.
Yesterday, the artiste released the lead single off the It’s Happening album. Titled Oluusi Nebowa, Kirya taps into people’s introverted nature of staying away from the noise to think.
Oluusi Nebowa is a flashback to the Maurice Kirya most Ugandans were first introduced to more than 20 years ago, simple and minimalistic, the one whose music had one instrument as the subject, the guitar.
In the song, he sings about times he gets bored and simply wants to stay at home and not be found; mainly sung in Luganda, the artiste sings about the need for peace of mind while poking fun about his time in public spaces………………………..CONTINUE READING…………..
