As the festive season approaches, the Minister of Gender and Social Development has issued a warning to event organisers about the inclusion of vulgar music in planned performances.
Ms Betty Amongi emphasised the need to protect and preserve culture and order, which can be achieved by regulating the quality of music for the well-being of children and the broader community.
“We must ensure that the music performed during the Christmas and New Year seasons is decently acceptable under the Uganda National Cultural Center (UNCC) Act and the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) Act,” Ms Amongi said while addressing journalists in Kampala on Monday.
