“Birds of a feather flock together” is an English proverb that means people with similar characteristics or interests tend to spend time together.
After signing a Memorandum of Understanding between Fangone Forest and a new political formation, Democratic Alliance (DA), Alien Skin stunned Ugandans when he used the old adage to describe his relationship with Nyendo-Mukungwe MP, Mathias Mpuuga who’s the head of the new political outfit planning to capture power in Uganda.
The former Leader of Opposition in Parliament (LoP) was recently suspended from his position as National Unity Platform (NUP) deputy president for Buganda by the party president Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine on allegations that he illegally partook of the Shs1.7 billion taxpayers’ money as a service award for himself and three other MPs from the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party. Mpuuga was given Shs500 million of the money as a token of appreciation during his short stint as the Leader of Opposition, which money he claims he deserved.
Bobi Wine and other members of NUP leadership and supporters described Mpuuga’s actions as immoral and illegal.
On the other hand, Alien Skin, real name Patrick Mulwana was recently released from prison where he spent days on remand on two separate charges; theft of an iPhone 15 Pro valued at over Shs3 million using violence, theft of Shs480,000 cash and assaulting Nsambya Hospital Staff.
During the Friday launch of DA which Mpuuga said would be used to dislodge President Museveni who has been in power since 1986 and also fill the “void created by NUP which is in deep slumber”, Alien Skin was asked to help mobilise the ghetto youth, hundreds of whom follow him because of his music and influence.
When he was given an opportunity to speak to hundreds of Mpuuga’s supporters who gathered at Malibu Gardens in Namirembe-Bakuli, Kampala, the Sitya Danger singer minsed no words when said he and Mpuuga have a lot in common and would work together to take their game to another level.
“I was remanded to prison for stealing a phone. I’m told my brother ( Mpuuga) also stole Shs500 million. So, birds of the same feathers……It means your alliances should be on a higher level such that you take your theft to another level….In Fangone we respect all elders. If you don’t respect the leaders of the people then you don’t respect the people”- Alien Skin said as Mpuuga and his supporters clapped and cheered.
