Mengo Alumni to reunite for historic celebration

At the heart of Kampala, Mengo Senior School stands as more than just a place of education; it’s a landmark where countless young minds have shaped dreams, fostered friendships, and set off on lifelong journeys. This November, the Mengo Old Students Association (MOSA) invites alumni back to these beloved grounds, calling all who once walked its halls to gather, share stories, and celebrate an institution that binds them across generations.

During today’s press conference, MOSA announced the grand reunion and inter-house gala, slated for November 30. The event promises an extraordinary blend of nostalgia, camaraderie, and pride, crafted especially for the many who owe part of their lives to Mengo’s influence. With laughter, memories, and the energy that only old friends can rekindle, alumni will come together to celebrate a heritage deeply rooted in shared experiences.

Reflecting on the significance of the event, MOSA Chairperson shared, “For every Mengo student, there is a story woven into these walls. This gathering is a chance to revive those stories, reconnect with faces we may not have seen in years, and honor the place that brought us all together.”

The November 30, celebration will go beyond a typical reunion. It features a day-long showcase of alumni achievements, where innovations, entrepreneurial ventures, and stories of personal triumph will be proudly displayed, capturing how far Mengo’s influence has reached.

Perhaps most eagerly awaited is the inter-house gala, a spirited contest set to reignite the good-natured rivalries among Mengo’s iconic houses. Alumni will cheer on their respective houses in a lighthearted yet passionate competition, with many likely slipping into the same enthusiastic roles they played as students. It’s a chance for the vibrant spirit of Mengo to be revived, as alumni show the same loyalty and pride they felt all those years ago.

This event, however, is about more than just competition and success stories. It’s a tribute to the friendships formed, the laughter shared, and the lessons learned both inside and outside of the classroom. The day’s moments are bound to be filled with laughter, stories that spark recognition and surprise, and perhaps a few teary eyes as people reflect on how their lives were molded here.

To those who were once Mengo students, November 30 will not just be a reunion. It’s a journey back to a chapter that shaped their lives. For all who will attend, the day promises to be filled with reminders of who they were, who they are, and the legacy they continue to build as part of the Mengo community.

As the countdown begins, anticipation builds. Soon, the familiar halls will once again echo with the voices of Mengo’s sons and daughters, reliving their shared past and celebrating the spirit of Mengo that continues to thrive in each of them.
