Kampala City businessman and socialite Nasser Nduhukire, also known as Don Nasser, introduced a minor to cocaine before sexually abusing her on several occasions, the State has indicated.
In its evidence presented before Buganda Road Magistrate’s Court yesterday, the State indicated that Nduhukire and his co-accused, Promise Ateete, were former lovers who turned into friends.
It is alleged that the victim, who resides with her mother in Qatar, previously attended Kabojja International School in Uganda. After completing her International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) exams in Qatar, she did not do some papers well, prompting her parents to have her retake them in Uganda.
According to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), the victim returned to Uganda on April 20, 2024, and was enrolled at MAT ABUCUS. She stayed with her paternal aunt in Naguru but disappeared on May 3, 2024, and failed to respond to her aunt’s repeated calls.
It is alleged that on the next day, the victim’s phone was tracked, revealing communication with number 0740261292. She returned home on May 4 but was evasive about her whereabouts, leading to investigations that showed she was lured away by Ateete, who used the above number and Snapchat to communicate with her.
“The victim was taken to Kyaliwajjala where she stayed with a paternal uncle but escaped again on May 27. One of the victim’s uncles met Ateete who initially claimed the victim was her cousin, but later admitted they were friends after Prosper Akankwasa told her that the victim is her daughter,“ reads in part the summary of the case.
According to the court documents, on the day the victim escaped from home, Ateete chatted with her on Snapchat and they met at Aura Bar along Acacia Avenue for some drinks and were later joined by Nduhukire. He reportedly gave Ateete Shs800,000 after she introduced the victim to him.
It is alleged that the two suspects and the victim drove to Tagore Living Apartments on Kayunga Road where Nduhukire gave the two girls cocaine to sniff.
Thereafter, Ateete allegedly left the victim with Nduhukire and another girl only known as Sheena before heading back to Aura Bar.
Court documents indicate that the victim was ushered to Nduhukire’s bedroom by a naked woman and was subjected to an HIV test where she was found negative thus giving her more cocaine to sniff.
The State evidence prompted presiding Magistrate Sanula Nambozo to commit the accused person to the High Court for trial.
They face charges of aggravated trafficking in children and defilement contrary to Section 129(1) of the Penal Code Act, CAP 120.
