Andrew Kyamagero

After more than five years of dedicated service at NTV, celebrated news anchor Andrew Kyamagero bid farewell to his viewers during his final broadcast on Thursday’s NTV at 9 bulletin. His departure marks the end of an era for a presenter who had quickly become a household favorite, known for his eloquence, charisma, and connection with the audience.

Before going on air, Kyamagero made the emotional announcement via social media, sharing his decision to step down from the anchor desk.

“After years of sharing and anchoring the stories that shaped us as a nation, I am humbled by the unwavering support of you, our great viewers. Thank you for trusting me to bring the news that defined who we are. Tonight marks my last bulletin. It’s been an honor and privilege to serve you all,” Kyamagero tweeted.

In his heartfelt message, Kyamagero also expressed his deep gratitude to NTV for giving him a platform to contribute to the nation’s storytelling in various capacities. Throughout his career at NTV, he covered some of the most pivotal stories in Uganda, cementing his role as one of the most respected figures in the media industry.

While Kyamagero remained tight-lipped about his future plans, close sources have provided some insight into his next chapter. According to a close friend, Isaac Katende, Kyamagero is set to embark on a new journey abroad. “He’s heading to China for further studies,” Katende revealed, signaling that Kyamagero may be pursuing educational opportunities that will expand his horizons even further.

As the news of his departure spreads, many fans and colleagues have taken to social media to pay tribute to Kyamagero, reflecting on his impact both on-screen and off. His calm demeanor and thorough reporting will surely be missed by NTV viewers, but there is little doubt that his next move will be one to watch closely.

For now, as Kyamagero takes a bow from his role as a news anchor, his contributions to the field of journalism will undoubtedly leave a lasting legacy.
