Juggle your mind, belt out a tune at 4040 Night

, American cultural anthropologist, author and speaker once said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it is the only thing that ever has”.

The words aptly describe the efforts supported by a cross divide of people toward the 40 Days Over 40 Smiles Foundation (4040) social change voluntary foundation that seeks to give vulnerable children a better life through education.

To draw in audiences, the organisers couple entertainment and learning. The curated fun activities will be the hook for their upcoming event dubbed ‘Unbearable Spirit. Unstoppable Game’, slated to take place next Friday, October 4 at Tales Lounge in Bukoto. This is part of their routine #4040Night.

The event promises to be a night of bonding, making friends and expanding your network as you get your mind tickled, teased and juggled during a quiz session that will be preceded by karaoke that should put your vocal codes to test and your mind to a challenge of how well you remember that song you used to belt out for your favourite girl or boy.

In another session, there will be board games and other entertainment. According to the head of communication at the organisation, Kisa Kasifa, one can participate as part of a quiz team with a minimum of five players and a maximum of 15, at Shs300,000 or as an individual at Shs20,000.

She explains, “#4040Night can be a great team building activity for your company or just a great Friday night gathering for friends and family. It is a chance to have fun for a good cause.”

“This edition of the event is dedicated to the procurement of chairs for the Angaza Resource Centre (ARC). The centre provides books, computers, games and a safe space for children to study and interact with their peers. If you are not attending the event, you can still donate money, other materials such as books, computers, or games, or partner with 4040 to provide in kind support,” Kasifa adds.

Over the years, the success of 4040 Night has been a testament to the power of partnerships. One of the event’s key collaborators, Agandy Studios, expressed their motivation for joining forces with 4040 and their expectations for the evening.

“The event is important to the community because it plants seeds of philanthropy. It inspires everyone who takes part to participate in nation-building and we are proud to support 4040’s initiative to bring holistic education to underserved communities,” Ninno Amanyire, the team leader at Agandy Studios, explains.

The quiz winner will receive a grand prize of Shs1m while the first and second runners

up will get Shs700,000 and Shs400,000, respectively. Only teams that register prior to the event will be eligible for the prizes. The deadline for team registration is September 30. Details on how to register are available on the 40-40 social network platforms. Established in 2012, 4040 hinges its model on the use of social media as a platform for raising awareness on pertinent issues in community and subsequently finding solutions.
