Lugogo Cricket Oval has been humbled. Now anyone can stage concerts at the 30,000- capacity venue unlike in the past when it was only reserved for established and foreign artistes.
But filling it up or atleast attempting to get the numbers needs some of the following – a good and experienced promoter, the right timing, the right entry fee and which artiste among others.
Acidic Vokoz might not have had some of those mentioned above. Still, he had the right promoter to successfully hold his debut concert titled ‘Ndi Musoga concert’ last Friday evening despite two other events happening on the same day.
Abitex was the promoter and with his experience and expertise in organizing events, he tactfully organized it, tagging it to the Eastern region where the artistes hails from and getting the right sponsors including Nation Media’s Spark Tv.
With Abitex’s previous concerts, production was one area he never cared so much about but with this specific event, he hired Fenon Events, arguably the biggest production house in Uganda .
Fenon came up with something extra-ordinary, erecting a stage incorporating the Nile Bridge.

Acidic Vokoz had two sessions during his concert that could accommodate his small catalogue, mixing in songs from other artistes in each of the sessions like Bob Marley’s One Love and Goodlyfe’s Lwaki Tonjagala and Lwaki Onumya.
His first session came at 10:27 with screens displaying several endorsement messages from the Kyabazinga of Busoga, Inebantu and Busoga’s biggest comedy group Swengere.
After the Busoga anthem was played, Acidic Vokoz, donning a black cape over white outfit, waved to the crowd before singing.
He started with Ndi Musoga, a song that emphasizes where he comes from. He then thanked his fans for not disappointing him before continuing with Njagala Gwe, Siri Safe, Maama, Tombuza, Ebyo Mbimalanga among others.
In his second session he did songs such as Future, Nkulinako Crush, Mukwano Gwange and lastly It’s Okay, his biggest song.
The crowd that had come in big numbers were singing most of his songs and many were seen lifting chairs every time he performed a song they liked.
He was accompanied by Warafik, Recho Ray, Eighton, Fresh Kid, Roden Y, Nutty Neithan, Victor Ruz, Roya Simba and Crysto Panda among others supported him.
