A exclusive island getaway for the Blue Club

A toast to all things cool, fine and elegant.

Over the weekend, several industry captains and business moguls were hosted at the picturesque Pineapple Bay Island for the relaunch of Blue Club.

The club offers meticulously curated events, which seamlessly merge business discourse with refined luxury and the re-launch was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment the guests boarded boats at the scenic Lake Victoria Serena Resort at Kigo, it was evident that the event exuded elegance.

Upon arrival, guests were greeted with a long blue carpet and a range of exquisitely crafted cocktails, setting the stage for a day of relaxation, refinement, and deep conversations.

The afternoon kicked off with a whisky mentorship and tasting session, highlighting the rich flavours of the iconic Blue Label. During this session, guests were guided through the art of savouring the finest whiskies, learning and unlearning the delicate nuances of enjoying undoubtedly one of the world’s most iconic and rarest whisky to date.

Michael Kitanda and Selector Jay were the major entertainers.

Co-hosted by Amos Nzeyi, the chairman of Crown Beverages Ltd and proprietor of Pineapple Bay Island, the relaunch welcomed distinguished figures such as Buganda Prince David Wassajja, Mumba Kalifungwa, the managing director of Absa Bank, and David Luyimbazi, the deputy executive director of KCCA, Johnson Omollo, the managing director of NTV and former NMG managing director Tony Glencross among others.

Their presence underscored the event’s exclusivity, providing a rare opportunity for Uganda’s business leaders to engage in meaningful exchanges within a relaxed environment.

Reigning Blue Club Patron Jimmy Mugerwa emphasised the significance of business leaders coming together in unconventional settings.

“Tonight is not just a celebration of luxury and craftsmanship, but a gathering of visionaries who continue to take bold steps that shape the future of business in Uganda,” Mugerwa said.

Saxophonist Michael Kitanda set the tone with soulful melodies, while Uganda’s legendary DJ, Selector Jay, played an eclectic mix of 70s and 80s Pop, R&B, and the latest Afrobeat hits, keeping the atmosphere lively and sophisticated. His perfectly curated playlist struck a chord with the diverse crowd, taking them on a musical journey that was a perfect backdrop for great conversations.

The relaunch of the Johnnie Walker Blue Club sets a new benchmark for luxury experiences in Uganda, blending business networking with elite lifestyle offerings. By invitation only, members must undergo a meticulous vetting process, and with an annual subscription fee of $1,500, they gain access to unparalleled experiences designed to enhance both business and leisure.
