Don Zella urges Big Eye to stop targeting Eddy Kenzo: Show respect, heal, and move on

Tension has been brewing between two partistes, Big Eye and Eddy Kenzo, the president of the Uganda National Musicians Federation. The friction between the two reached a new level recently when Big Eye, in a now-viral video, publicly taunted Eddy Kenzo, daring him to a musical showdown. This challenge wasn’t just a professional rivalry, but also seemed to take a personal turn. At one point in the video, Big Eye referred to Kenzo, who heads Big Talent Entertainment, as “Ssemutoro” — a term widely interpreted as a slight aimed at Kenzo’s relationship with Hon. Phiona Nyamutoro.

The use of “Ssemutoro” raised eyebrows online, with netizens quickly concluding that the term was intended to mock Kenzo’s connection to the politician. What appeared to be lighthearted banter at first glance soon escalated into a more serious issue, drawing the attention of not only the public but also Big Eye’s former partner, Don Zella.

Don Zella, who shares a child with Big Eye and has a history with him, was quick to respond to his remarks. Using her social media platforms, she delivered a stern message to Big Eye, urging him to cease his ongoing public attacks on Kenzo. She warned that if he did not stop, she would be forced to intervene personally, indicating that she is tired of watching the feud escalate.

“Everyone has the freedom to have differences with or criticize Eddy Kenzo,” Don Zella began, “but you, Big Eye, are in no position to insult or belittle him. I’ve spoken to you countless times, both face-to-face and through texts, and yet you keep reverting to this behavior. You’ve disrespected his wife in the past, and now it seems like you can’t help but insert yourself into every discussion that involves his name. This is not entertaining. Let it go. If you continue, I will step in because I know Eddy Kenzo won’t respond to you, but I won’t sit idly by.”

She then urged Big Eye to focus on his music, reminding him that the public would appreciate him more for his talent rather than the constant drama surrounding his rivalry with Kenzo. “People will respect you more if you focus on your craft instead of dragging Kenzo into unnecessary conflicts. At the very least, show some gratitude for the opportunities and support he provided you in the past. He’s not perfect, but you are where you are today because of some of the things he did for you. For those of us who view him as family, it’s heartbreaking to see you behave like this.”

Don Zella’s message didn’t stop there; she went on to call for maturity and personal growth from Big Eye, expressing her frustration over his inability to move on from their past grievances. “Sometimes, you have to rise above the pettiness and be the bigger person. It’s time to heal, focus on your future, and stop holding onto this grudge. Watching you attack Kenzo like this is incredibly painful, not just for me, but for many others who see him as family. You need to let go, sebo.”

Her message to Big Eye was both a plea and a warning — urging him to end his public spat with Kenzo before it goes too far, while also hinting at her willingness to intervene if necessary. Whether or not Big Eye will heed her advice remains to be seen, but Don Zella’s involvement has certainly added another layer to an already complicated and public feud.
