The British Chamber of Commerce Uganda (BCCU) was officially launched last week at the British High Commissioner’s residence in Nakasero, Kampala. The exclusive event, curated by Tanqueray Gin, offered a unique cocktail experience and marked a significant step in strengthening trade ties between the UK and Uganda.
The invite-only launch began with an interactive quiz and raffle, bringing together esteemed business leaders, government officials, and community members. Attendees enjoyed a variety of cocktails crafted with Tanqueray Dry Gin and the zesty Flor de Sevilla variant, creating a lively and sophisticated atmosphere.

The British Chamber of Commerce Uganda aims to enhance trade links between the UK and Uganda, fostering increased trade and investment. It will also provide a range of business support and trade promotion services to its members.

Speaking at the launch, H.E. Kate Airey OBE, the British High Commissioner to Uganda, emphasized the importance of unity in challenging times. “As the economy and investment environment become more difficult, it is essential to strengthen our community to succeed. I am delighted to launch the British Chamber of Commerce Uganda as a platform to strengthen the trade and investment relationship between the UK and Uganda,” she said.

The BCCU is part of a broader network operating in several African countries, dedicated to helping UK businesses of all sizes thrive in Uganda. The evening concluded with a live performance by renowned guitarist Myko Ouma and his band, who entertained guests with timeless music pieces, adding a perfect finish to the night.
