Recently, Ms Jane Kasuubo, the mother of the late singer Moses Ssekibogo, known as Mowzey Radio, publicly appealed for financial support. Speaking to the media on Tuesday from her home in Kagga, Nakawuka, Wakiso District, Ms. Kasuubo disclosed that she needs Shs 350 million to purchase a plot of land that separates her house from the grave where her son was buried. The land would allow for easier access to Radio’s final resting place, which has been converted into a mausoleum to attract tourists.
This public appeal has sparked controversy, with many questioning the appropriateness of her media approach. Musician Moses Ssali, known as Bebe Cool, has recently weighed in, criticizing Ms. Kasuubo’s decision to address the media. Bebe Cool suggested that her action was a significant error and advised other artists to ensure their families refrain from engaging with the public without prior consultation.
Bebe Cool specifically recommended that Ms Kasuubo should have discussed her concerns with Radio’s elder brother, Frank, before going public. He also pointed out that her request, made at a time when Radio’s counterpart Weasel is preparing for his first concert since Radio’s death, appeared selfish.
“You could have waited three months to make the same request if it was truly necessary,” Bebe Cool remarked during his live TikTok session on Thursday evening. “It seemed like you were trying to capitalize on the celebration of GoodLyfe to get your share,” he added.
