I deserve it – Eddy Kenzo speaks out on appointment as Presidential Adviser

Eddy Kenzo

Edrisa Musuuza, known as Eddy Kenzo and President of the Ugandan National Musicians Federation, has addressed his recent appointment as Presidential Adviser on Creatives. The news, announced Wednesday evening, has dominated both mainstream and social media throughout Thursday.

In his statement to journalists, Kenzo expressed gratitude to President Yoweri Museveni, saying, “I want to thank the President of Uganda, H.E. Museveni, for his wisdom in governing the country. People like us, who came from the ghetto, are often despised because others believe we lack knowledge and cannot contribute meaningfully. I am grateful for the President’s ability to recognize talent and bring it into service for the country’s progress.”

Kenzo continued, “Thank you very much, Your Excellency, for this appointment. I promise to do my best.” He emphasized that his appointment signifies hope for youth, showing that success is achievable with humility, discipline, hard work, and truthfulness. “Life is what you make it,” he added.

Reflecting on his journey, Kenzo noted that he has intentionally avoided drug abuse, alcoholism, insults, and self-aggrandizement. He has remained open to learning, which has allowed him to connect with influential people, including his wife, who is now a Minister.

Kenzo also highlighted the importance of personal growth and sacrifice, urging the public to focus on his achievements and the journey that led him to this role. He believes his progress from a challenging background to his current position is evidence of why he deserved the appointment.
