Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL) has launched a nationwide consumer promotion called “Laga Swagga”, which will reward over 400 loyal consumers with cash prizes totaling 1 billion shillings over 12 weeks. The promotion, which translates to “show off your style,” will offer daily and weekly prizes from August to October.
To participate, consumers who purchase select UBL products – including Uganda Waragi Premium, Coconut and Lemon and Ginger, Bond 7, Gilbeys, or V&A – must submit a special code found under the cap via SMS to 6688 to win instant cash prizes. Each submission also enters consumers into a weekly televised draw to win up to UGX 50 million, broadcast every Thursday evening on NBS, NTV, Bukedde TV, and Galaxy TV.
Robert Nsibirwa, Marketing Manager Spirits at UBL, said, “This promotion demonstrates our commitment to connecting with our consumers across Uganda. We’re giving back to our loyal customers and celebrating life, everyday, everywhere.”
The campaign launch was attended by distributors, consumers, and media representatives, who learned about the campaign mechanics and witnessed the first rewards of UGX 1.5M being handed over to three lucky winners. Nsibirwa emphasized that Laga Swagga aims to reconnect with consumers nationwide while benefiting various players in the UBL value chain, contributing to socio-economic growth.
Ernst and Young has been engaged as the audit team to ensure the campaign’s integrity. Additionally, distributors will have the opportunity to win stock worth UGX 1 million based on sales volumes.
