On Saturday evening, Faith Patricia Aseru, 22, was crowned Miss Tourism West Nile at Aragan Hotel in Adjumani District. The event was part of the regional Miss Tourism search, which has been ongoing in different regions and will culminate in a grand finale in September.

Aseru beat 10 other beauty queens to take the crown, with Anati Sandra Munduru as the 1st runner up and Awekonimungu Shamira from Pakwach District as the 2nd runner up. The event featured a runway display of cultural outfits and a Q&A session with the judges, which focused on domestic tourism and how the contestants would promote Uganda as a tourism destination to the international market.

The regional winners, including Aseru, Anati, and Awekonimungu, will undergo final training at a boot camp before representing the West Nile region at the grand finale on September 14, at Kampala Serena Hotel. The ultimate winner will be crowned Miss Tourism Uganda 2024/25, succeeding Queen Nabukonde Kiyayi Ruokaya.

The newly crowned queen will then represent Uganda at the Miss Tourism International Pageant in Malaysia before returning for domestic tourism ambassadorial duties.
