Six years after his demise, Mowzey Radio’s music continues to spark controversy, with allegations that some of his hard drives containing unreleased songs were stolen and the tracks sold to other artists.
During a recent appearance on Deep Talk, Weasel, Radio’s former music partner, revealed that songs by the late sensational singer are being released posthumously by other artistes. “Mowzey’s songs are being sold to artistes, but I hate talking about it because I hate making enemies. There are many that I did not contribute to,” Weasel stated.
Weasel also addressed misconceptions surrounding the creation of Angel Music, clarifying that it was not a result of a separation between him and Radio. “Many were misinformed, thinking Mowzey started Angel Music because we had separated, but that was not the case. We both had separate solo projects. He wrote songs for other artistes and owned the rights to those songs. He wanted every song he wrote to belong to Angel Music, not Goodlyf, and this was his initiative.”
Weasel shared these insights ahead of the “Memories of Goodlyf” concert, which is set to take place this Friday at Hotel Africana.
