Among the things Chameleone asked for recently at a function at Kololo Independence Grounds was a studio and his wish has been granted, but not just for him but for the rest of the artistes in Uganda.
According to info we have received, President Museveni has given artistes a free studio in Mengo where they will record their content free of charge. For the upcountry artistes, there are plans to construct studios in every region of the country but before that, they can access the studios in Mengo, which also has rooms where they can spend the night for free.
The name of the studio is PIMS Audio Studio, PIMS stands for Presidential Initiative for Music Skilling and these studios will be managed by Sophie Nantongo, Instrumentalist Sam Mananka and Dr Tee.
“Registration starts on July 22 and we shall have voice trainers, instrument teachers, video and audio production teachers, among others. I urge everyone, especially upcoming artistes to come to the studios in Mengo,” said Dr Tee.
