Artiste Viboyo, has revealed the fascinating story behind the iconic collaboration ‘Nyumabani’ with Goodlyf (Radio and Weasel). In an interview on Vybe Life Ug’s YouTube channel, Viboyo shared how the idea was conceived by Jeff Kiwa, the former manager of Goodlyf.
According to Viboyo, Jeff Kiwa suggested a collaboration to help him overcome his struggles in the music industry. Mowzey Radio invited Viboyo to Nyanama and asked Weasel to create a demo. Radio then shared his vision for a unique love song, where the artist would cry over lost love. Viboyo wrote his verse and returned to Nyanama, where Jeff Kiwa insisted that Benon was the perfect producer for the track. They recorded the song at Swangz Avenue.
However, Jeff Kiwa felt something was missing, and he suggested adding Aziz Azion’s guitar to give the song an extra layer of depth. And so, the iconic collaboration “Nyumabani” was born.
Viboyo’s story offers a glimpse into the creative process and the power of collaboration in music. The song has become one of the biggest collaborations in Uganda, and its origins are a testament to the importance of perseverance and innovative thinking in the music industry.
