Lt. Gen. Nalweyiso warns musicians: Drop gangs or face consequences

Lt. Gen. Proscovia Nalweyiso has issued a stern warning to musicians who associate with gangs, urging them to disassociate from such groups or face consequences. The army general believes that this behavior tarnishes the country’s image and promises that the matter will be addressed seriously by all concerned parties, including those in higher authority.

In an interview with UG Updates on YouTube, Gen. Nalweyiso specifically cautioned musicians Fik Gaza and Alien Skin to either control their gangs or dissociate from them. She also warned Alien Skin, the boss of Fangone Forest, to stop wearing military attire unless he has official documentation permitting him to do so. Instead, she advised him to undergo training and officially join the army if that’s his desire.

Gen. Nalweyiso emphasized that supporting Alien Skin is acceptable, but not when he wears army uniforms and associates with gangs that incite violence. She urged security agencies to take action before the situation escalates, stating that such behavior will no longer be tolerated.

Gangs have become a concerning trend in the music industry, often comprising over 30 young individuals who accompany musicians and spark commotions. A recent incident occurred at the Zzina Awards in Kansanga in February, where gangs affiliated with Fik Gaza and Alien Skin clashed.
