On May 12, 2024, Ugandans will be rallying on Phoebe Nekesa, the second runner-up for Top Model Uganda, who will be representing The Kiromo Teens Day Out, a celebration of youth talent, creativity, and achievement, which happened last Saturday afternoon at UMA show grounds Lugogo with MC Ollo and Pam Malaika as the hosts.
The vibrant energy of Ugandan teenagers was witnessed as teenagers from various schools across Uganda showcased their talents and competed for prestigious titles.
The event also served as the crowning of Mr. and Miss High School, Mr. and Miss Teen, and Miss Teen International. Through a combination of online voting, which contributed 50%, and judges’ evaluations, which contributed the other 50%, Elite High School’s Amber Birungi claimed the title of Miss High School, while Arafat Ssali from Kakungulu Memorial was crowned Mr. High School.
Additionally, Salma Abdi Ahmed from Kakungulu High School and Martin Serumaga from St Julian High School Gayaza were named Miss Teen and Mr. Teen, respectively, while Gabwe Trishilla from Seeta High School clinched the title of Miss Teen International.
The event was not only about crowning winners but also about providing a platform for teenagers to showcase their talents and creativity.
Throughout the day, attendees were treated to electrifying performances by renowned artists such as Fik Fameika, Vinka, Zex Bilangilangi, and RickMan. DJs including Etania, Liquid DJ, MAYSON DJ, and Lynda Ddane kept the crowd energized with pulsating beats.
As the event came to a close, it left behind memories of a day filled with joy, excitement, and the celebration of teen talent.
