Majority of the beauty pageants held in Uganda and globally only consider the girl child, neglecting the boy child in the process, but that is about to change. The Kids and Teens Pageant Global Uganda is a new beauty pageant with a twist.
The pageant slated for May 26, at Nsambya Gardens will have winners in different categories including the Toto, Mini, Little, and Teen categories where both girls and boys will be crowned from the age of 4 to 17.
During the launch of this pageant at Nsambya Gardens last week, the proprietor and Chief Executive Officer Doreen Namugenyi Bagwani said the pageant is aimed at instilling discipline in children.
“The main aim of this pageant is to instill discipline in the little ones as well as help with talent and confidence building,” she said.
Namugenyi further added that they decided to involve the boy child because he has been neglected most of the time.
There is a registration fee of Shs100,000 for this pageant and auditions will be held at Golf Course Hotel on the 28th of this month. Participants will be introduced to pageantry and taught how to posture, how to be creative, how to be confident, and how to present themselves.
The winners will be presented with an opportunity to represent Uganda on a global scale by participating in different competitions abroad besides the accolades.
