Naira Ali breaks silence, announces new music

Naira Ali

In a live video clip shared across her social media handles, Naira Ali announced that she’s going to release new music. She mentioned that she will be dropping an Extended Play (EP) on the March 18, 2024. We got in touch with the soul artiste for a one on one and here are the excerpts.

Why have you decided to come back to the Ugandan music industry?

I have not just decided to come back, because I never left in the first place. I’ve been doing my music at my own pace.

Do you have plans to return to Uganda and why did you move to the USA?

Of course, Uganda is home. I will always be back no matter what, but not right now (maybe ndiida mu Uganda empya). I relocated to the USA permanently for many reasons but that is a story for another day.

What have you been doing while off the stage?

Well, I have been working a lot, making money, traveling a lot, eating a lot, and simply living life.

Why did you refrain from commenting on the involvement of most Ugandan musicians in politics?

I hate politics.

What is Purple Chord?

Purple Chord is an African music record label based in Kampala, Uganda. We do music, videos, advertising, events, and more. We are currently located in Nalukolongo, Kampala.

About the upcoming EP, tell us everything we need to know?

I am going to be dropping a 7 Track EP on the March 18, 2024. It’s been a while since I released music so I thought this would be the right time. It’s the most beautiful Ugandan music you are going to listen to, and I can’t wait for everyone to listen to it.

What does this EP sound like?

It sounds like nothing you’ve ever heard before, even from me. It’s the real definition of good soulful African music, a mixture of different genres and feels. It’s the kind of music that will last and live on for years. It takes you away from the current trendy bubblegum music on the market today. If you’re a sucker for good music like me, you are going to love this EP.

Are there collaborations on the EP?

I have collaborated with two of the most talented male artistes and that is Ykee Benda and Spyda MC.

What inspired the EP?

I am always inspired by love. That’s why the album is titled ‘Love’. My love for love, life, and everything in between. This is the kind of music I’ve always wanted to do. Some of the songs on the album I sang like seven years ago, and I’ve kept them for the right moment and I believe this is the moment.

Who have worked with on this EP?

We’ve worked with the best of the best both here and in Uganda, straight out of Hollywood with Ryan Pate, renowned famous celebrity producer, to Uganda’s magical Bass Boi, Ricko, Jacob Beats, to mention but a few. We have worked with many different studios, songwriters, backup vocalists, instrumentalists, sound masters, and mixers. Above all, Purple Chord Studios.

Last word to fans

The EP can be preordered as it will be available starting March 15 and also Follow me on all my social media platforms Naira Ali Official.
