Uganda’s Faith Patricia Ariokot’s Longest Tree Hug record approved

Faith Patricia Ariokot is the new Guinness World Records holder

On January 16, 2024, Ugandan climate change activist Faith Patricia Ariokot amidst pain and tears attempted to break her record for the longest tree hug for the third time. She persevered for 16 hours and 6 minutes.

Today, she has received the best news as her application has been considered by the Guinness World Records.

She is now the holder of the longest tree hug in the world and awaiting a complimentary certificate.

“Application Reference: 2305171328071tth Dear Faith Ariokot. We are thrilled to inform you that your application for the longest time to hug a tree has been successful and you are now the Guinness World Records Title Holder! You are now eligible for one complimentary Guinness World Records certificate,” reads part of the document she shared.

Ariokot couldn’t hide her excitement as she shared the news on X sending a vote of thanks to her supporters.

“Dear Uganda TESTED. APPROVED.TRUSTED. I want to extend the greatest appreciation to all those that have supported me throughout this record. It has not been an easy journey especially as I had to do this attempt 3 times. At 16 hours and 6 minutes, it is official. The record is home,” she posted.
