The Sauti za Busara Festival, an African annual music festival, held in February in Zanzibar, Tanzania and centred in the Old Fort is a testament to Africa’s musical diversity, bringing together artistes from across the continent to celebrate their shared heritage.
This year’s edition that happened from February 9th t0 10th had
Aliddeki Brian as Uganda’s representative and his inclusion in this esteemed line-up not only highlights his rising prominence but also signifies Uganda’s thriving music scene and its contribution to the global cultural landscape.
The budding musician put up a thrilling performance to a full house on the first night of the festival. His engaging performance got the entire international crowd yearning for more as their bodies swung in excitement to all his songs.
The excitement he stirred in the audience compelled the organisers to call him back for an encore after his one hour performance.
His versatility and ability to play multiple traditional instruments was well received and made his performance stand out as one of the best at the festival, solidifying his reputation as one of Africa’s fastest rising young stars on the world music scene.
Having emerged as a semi-finalist in the Pearl of Africa Star Search, Aliddeki’s unique musical style captured the hearts of both judges and audiences alike. His fusion of traditional Ugandan rhythms, melodies, and instruments with contemporary sounds garnered widespread acclaim, setting him apart.
In less than two years in the music industry, he has performed at major events such as Nyege Nyege festival, Afropalooza festival, Blankets & Wine festival, World Music Day. His music has so far taken him to Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi and the DRC as he seeks to widen his fan base.
Managed by Talent Africa Group, Aliddeki was accompanied to Zanzibar by CEO Aly Allibhai and his live band, ensuring that his performance stands out and represents Uganda to the core. With a vision to showcase Uganda’s vibrant cultural identity, Aliddeki’s participation underscores his role as a cultural ambassador, promoting Ugandan heritage on an international platform.
