Former Miss Uganda Quin Abenakyo has graduated with a Master’s degree from the Graduate School of Global Digital Innovation in South Korea where she has been for the past two years.
“Where have I been? What happened to me? Well, for the past two years, I’ve been in South Korea, immersing myself in my master’s degree journey,” wrote Abenakyo on her Facebook page as she excitedly shared the news on Thursday morning.
Adding; “Celebrating a pivotal milestone: My master’s degree I thank God, whose boundless favour and grace have been the cornerstone of my life’s journey and achievements. I firmly believe that my accomplishments manifest His work within me.”

Hailing from Mayuge District, Quin Abenakyo rose to fame in 2018 after being crowned Miss Uganda 2018/2019 at the age of 22. In the same year, Quin who was then a Business Computing student at Makerere University later represented Uganda in the 68th edition of the Miss World competitions. She performed well and became the first Ugandan to ever make it to the top 30 finalists in the Miss World competition.
Miss Uganda Abenakyo later made it to the final and was among the top five contestants. She not only represented Uganda but was also the only African in the final. The competition was won by a Mexican model Vanessa Ponce de Leon who was crowned Miss World at an event organised on the tropical Chinese island of Hainan. Quin was announced as the second runner up and Miss World Africa.
In 2019, Abenakyo graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Computing from Makerere University but her academic milestone was later challenged by a one David Musiri who claimed that Quin had not met all the necessary requirements to be awarded the degree.
