What to expect at the first-ever Jinjera Festival

Sam Semakula speaking on behalf of Humble management

It is safe to say that Jinja is one of Uganda’s entertainment hubs. This place has some of the best scenery and is a great place to relax and have fun.

The city has hosted some of the biggest events in Uganda like the Nyege Nyege Festival, Reggae on the Nile, Roast and Rhyme among others.

Nile Nest will host the first-ever Jinjera festival on March 9 where some of the best activities will be held.

Themed ‘Bringing Amsterdam and Jamaica Closer to Home,’ the event will have activities such as games, site seeing, and prize-winning among others but the biggest of them all will be performances from artistes including Cindy Sanyu, Samasoulja, Ziza Bafana, Nutty Neithan, and Janzi Band among others.

During a press conference at Pier One in Najjera, the organizers of this event assured the public that this was going to be a different event from those that have been happening.

“It was a natural choice to move the venue to Jinja, as it is the capital of adventures. We believe the lineup of artistes is the best for the inaugural edition due to their different strengths. Because the event is happening a day after Women’s Day, we have a special discount package for the women,” said Sam Semakula on behalf of Humble Management who are the organizers.

He also added that the Jinjera Festival is going to be an annual festival aiming to become bigger and better with every edition.

In addition to great reggae vibes and endless fun, the event will start at 6 am and run until 6 pm the following day.

Early bird tickets for the festival are available for Shs70,000, while tickets purchased at the gate will be Shs100,000.
