Winnie Nwagi
As we bid farewell to the year, the challenge is to choose that one video that captures the soul of that year. Winnie Nwagi’s Okubye Nyo is that video. In the sense that it captures every feeling, every high and low of this year (unknowingly).
About the video? You will love its denim set. It is the glory moment in this video; Nwagi is all out with her team to showcase some good moves. And it seems the fashion trend is back, the one of the exposed underwear bands.
There is a grunge feel to it. Something that echoes well with Nwagi, the spirit of non-conformism. Not to take away from the earlier scenes of the music video. Impressive here are the effects, the play with that stone quarry, the image of the submerged car, the fuel pump station. But it looks like they did not want to stretch it all out at the quarry. But I love the experimentation here!
