Until now, some people speculate music star Bebe Cool and wife Zuena are not yet married. This is because the power couple in the entertainment industry did not do a lavish, public wedding like counterparts Jose Chameleone and Bobi Wine, among others.
In attempt to set the record straight, Zuena said they officially got married in early 2000s.
This was in response to award winning author, Kakwenza Rukirabashaija’s post about lavish weddings.
Kakwenza posted about how he attended a wedding of a rich friend who is 40 while his wife is 43. According to Kakwenza, the couple has PhDs and enormous wealth from their academic careers and authored books. He added that during the weeding, they were only 21 people at the venue but the groom complained that that’s a lot. He spent only €1,000 on food, drinks and venue, no decoration, no car hire, no pomp and glare.
Besides that wedding, he attended another one last November where there was no food. Just champagne and a snack. There were 13 people in church and just seven at the reception yet this couple is also rich but cannot spend money like they stole it while in his country, a wedding is like a contest for begging and spending money on luxury. It’s like a festival for gathering hundreds of hungry people and feeding them. After the wedding, the newly-wed lumber with debts and grudges emanating from false expectations—friends who didn’t contribute. Then explaining to those who were not invited.
“They even told us that they are going to Rwanda for their honeymoon. To sunbathe, do gorilla tracking and have incredible sex in alfresco. A Ugandan would think that you want to bewitch them or cause an aeroplane crash or close the airport. No one will tell you.”
It is this tweet that Zuena used as a benchmark to let people know why they didn’t have a lavish wedding.
“This is why me and hubby chose a simple court wedding, very little expense and no debts to pay. One of the best decisions we’ve ever made,” she posted.
