In a bid to empower and uplift the status of women in Africa and the world over, Pivoting In Heels, a Non-governmental Organisation (NGO), has launched its operations in Uganda.

The launch of Pivoting In Heels Uganda was held at La Cheatteu Quality Hill Hotel in Kabalagala and attended by several women working in various leading companies in Uganda including Nana Kagga, Dr Miria Matembe, Dr Maggie Kigozi, prominent lawyers Pheona Wall and Elizabeth Atukubda, Gloria Aminat, a renowned author, Cleopatra Koheirwe and Nana Kagga, prominent actresses among others.

Remmy Male, the country director of Pivoting In Heels Uganda, revealed that the main objective of the organization is not only to empower, but to also create a database of women doing great things around the world and to connect them with each other.

“Pivoting Inn Heels is a platform for empowering women in Africa, equipping them with knowledge and skills that can improve their livelihoods, plus building networking so as to connect the powerful women from different countries with those who need their mentorship and support,” Ms. Male said.

She added that; “In Uganda we have started by unveiling the Coffee Table Book, which features all the powerful women that are making a great impact on communities in the country, and the Stanbic For Her Program.”

A book also titled ‘Pivoting in Heels’ was also launched on the day and Male revealed that the Coffee Table Book is a compilation of inspirational stories from women Chief Executives, politicians, health experts, entrepreneurs, agriculturalists, artistes and civil society leaders who have positively impacted the lives of millions of Ugandans.
