The annual Oktoberfest event happened last Saturday evening at Cricket Oval with a surprise that took revellers down memory lane.
The main performers of the night were Koheen Jayce, Cindy and Jose Chameleone but the night offered much more than that. A surprise from one of Tanzania’s veteran artiste known as TID.
TID topped the charts in the early 20s and was one of the Tanzanian artistes that constantly featured on East African TV with songs like Nyota Yako, Zeze and Siamini, his biggest song to date.
The artiste is in Uganda and came through with Jose Chameleone at the event. He didn’t just come to pass by but also had a chance to perform. He did two songs including Siamini but apart from a few people in the crowd, the rest just watched him wondering who he was even after Chameleone introduced him as a legendary artiste.
Back to Chameleone, his performance included songs like Kuma Obwesigwa, Wale Wale, Forever, Baliwa and Valu Valu among others.
Cinderella Sanyu on the other hand was the woman of the moment. Despite not performing last, she really worked with the audience alongside her dancers. They simultaneously danced to every song she performed, pulling off the same moves that excited the audience. Her choice of songs including Boom Party, Still Standing, Ndi Mukodo and Copy Cat among others were on point.
Earlier on, despite the low turn-up, the audience was in a jovial mood. Never at any one point did they look bored. They enjoyed mixes from the different deejays that played during artiste intervals.
