Four One One

Enough is enough, Winnie Nwagi warns

Winnie Nwagi, artiste

For the nine years that Winnie Nwagi has been active in the music industry, she had never travelled in Business Class. Not until a few days ago when one of the promoters in Germany offered her the opportunity. It was a different feel altogether that she had to share with her fans. There was plenty of room to sleep, a lot to eat.

All in all, it was the best feeling for the musician that she had to make demands on behalf of the industry to other promoters to also upgrade their travel arrangements to Business Class.

“I am calling upon our dear clients/promoters from overseas to please make a change. Some of us have worked so hard to deserve this comfort when we are coming to ya’ll..Economy is not bad but for an artiste, it is embarrassing because of so many reasons. We appreciate the star treatment at arrival but it does not make sense when some of our fans have already seen us in Economy squeezing here and there, snoring and all… Please first save enough money to make sure you treat us/our artistes like the Stars they are. We are already facing enough unfair treatment in this industry. We deserve better,” reads part of her rant.

She added that their music and demand is why promoters have to book them, meaning they both need each other and besides they can as well make that money while in Uganda.
