Joshua Baraka most nominated Ugandan in the AFRIMMAs

Joshua Baraka

One song will take you places but only if you know how to make the right moves. He might be criticized for fronting his ‘Nana’ song but Joshua Baraka and his management know exactly what they are doing.

After having several African tours and performances, the artiste with this hit song has managed to become the most nominated artiste from Uganda in the just-released list of nominees in the AFRIMMA awards.

Joshua Baraka is nominated in the Song of the Year category, Best Collaboration, and Video of the Year. All these for the remix of the song alongside Joeboy, King Promise & Bien.

“Not 1, Not 2 but 3 AFRIMA Nominations. Thank you NANA,” tweeted Joshua Baraka.

However, he is not the only Ugandan nominated for these awards. Eddy Kenzo is nominated in the Best Male Artist East Africa, Azawi and Spice Diana in the Best Female Artist East Africa, Triplets Ghetto Kids in the Best African Dancer category, 207 in the Producer of the Year category, Masaka Dance Kids in the Best African Dancer and James Onen a.k.a FatBoy in the Radio/TV Personality of the Year.

This year, the AFRIMMA Awards mark their 10th Anniversary. The awards have celebrated African music and recognized the immense talent that exists across the continent and in the diaspora.

Set to be held in Dallas, Texas on 17th September 2023, the AFRIMMA awards have recognized outstanding talents on the African continent, nominating stars like Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, Diamond Platnumz, Asake, Adekunle Gold, Davido, and Wizkid, among others.
