Latitude deliver perfect fusion of food and jazz music

What is a party without good food?

As the first edition of the House of Jazz experience rolled out at Latitude 0 Degrees in Makindye over the weekend, revellers had a multitude of rare dishes to devour, courtesy of celebrated chefs that were flown in from Zanzibar, Kenya and Tanzania.

To say the chefs gave the attendees a memorable cuisine experience is an understatement; the chefs left a lasting impression on the guests!

From the onset, the aroma at the venue screamed fine dining and cuisine.

Zanziba’s star chef, Alex Itungulu who led the team of the three visiting chefs from neighbouring East African states, was as impressive in engaging guests, as were his tasty meals!

For the food offerings, the chefs played around with different East African delicacies that they enhanced with ingredients from else where.

One could tell that each dish was carefully selected and meticulously prepared. It was a celebration of culinary genius where chefs were out to impress.

And food is nothing without a worthy drink. Being a night celebrating cuisines and the power of jazz music, there was more to the offering.

Whisky, the chefs easily recommended it for digestion purposes, apparently it does the hard job of breaking food down. Yet for jazz music, It’s like a shot of whisky, not understood or consumed by everyone.

Whiskey spiced things up, lifting the house mood thanks to the Kenyan mixologists who pulled off  carefull pairings.

These Singleton themed cocktails added  a twist to the experience.

But it was a jazz music night, it was the perfect time for the Kampala Jazz Orchestra .

From wind and stringed instruments, they treated the audience to an unforgettable night of soulful tunes.

Kenyan outfit Sauti Sol’s Bien topped the enjoyment, as he presented the perfect entertainment backdrop for guests to unwind and shake to his classic jams.

At the end of the night, it was evident that the House of Jazz experience had left a lasting mark on the crowd.
