Dr Jane Goodall, a world renowned chimpanzee conservationist is in Uganda as Ngamba set to celebrate 25 years in existence on Wednesday August 23, 2023. She was received this afternoon at Entebbe International Airport by Conservationist including the Executive Director Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary Dr Joshua Rukundo, Ms Priscilla Nyakwera the operations manager Jane Goodall Institute, Mr Ivan Amanyigaruhanga ED Uganda biodiversity ,Mr James Byamukama, D Jane Goodall Institute among others.
She is expected to meet different stakeholders and give a public lecture at Sheraton Conference Center in Kampala on Tuesday August 22, 2023 which will reflect Dr. Goodall’s vision for a harmonious coexistence between humans and wildlife focusing on the emerging high levels of deforestation in major chimpanzee habitats occasioned by the extensive commercial development.
Her purpose for the visit is to connect the national audiences, spreading hope and turning it into a meaningful positive impact to create a better world for people ,other animals and the planet we share. Goodall will also launch Roots and Shoots which is a youth program which will be held at Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Center.
Jane Goodall is the Founder of the Jane Goodall Institute(JGI),UN Messenger of Peace, Founder of the Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a world-renowned ethologist and activist inspiring greater understanding and action on behalf of the natural world.
