Comedy outfit Fun Factory has taken the initiative to fundraise for veteran journalist Edgar Batte, who has been battling type two diabetes since 2012.
Fun Factory started this initiative last week and will be collecting money for a whole month during their weekly comedy show known as comedicine that happens every Thursday at National Theatre.
“Edgar has been part of our journey for the last 20 years. He was the first journalist to publish our story in Daily Monitor free of charge so we are really indebted to him. He has since become a brother to us and as Fun Factory, we have to be there for him during this trying moment,” said Hannington Bugingo, one of the directors at Fun Factory.
Before this move, Fun factory had sent Edgar Batte shs1 million for his treatment before collecting shs1.1million last Thursday.
