According to the latest United Nations estimates, Africa has a population of 1,437 billion people. Therefore, to make it to the top 100 most impactful Africans is not easy at all. That is why we have to give credit to Ugandan film director Loukman Ali who has managed that.
The cinematographer has been recognised as one of the 100 most impactful individuals in Africa’s movie industry by Ranks Africa, a media outlet known for its magazine that celebrates and highlights creative talents in Africa.
His exceptional contribution to the movie Brotherhood played a significant role in his inclusion, as the film garnered numerous accolades at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCAs) this year.
“As part of the #AFRICA 100 2023 half of the year goal to promote African identity, diversity and success, and showcase the cultural economic potentials. We recognise @loukman ali as a Top African Filmmaker,” Reads a statement from the magazine.
Being a man of little words, the ‘Girl in the yellow jumper’ director posted the news on his twitter with a hand clipart emoji perhaps as an appreciation.
