Pamela Acaa, a 25-year-old teacher in Kitgum District was last Saturday crowned Miss Tourism Northern Uganda in a highly contested event held at Boma Hotel in Gulu.
Acca beat five other contestant to the crown after emerging the best in different activities that contestants were tasked to perform throughout the evening.
Genevieve Akello was the runner-up while Juliet Angeyo came third in the contest.
The participants were involved in different activities, including a talent show and creative wear where they had to explain to the judges how they came up with the outfit and what it means.
The contestants had their fans in the audience rallying them as they showcased their different talents in different fields but Acaa was the fairest of them all.
She will represent Miss Tourism Northern Uganda in the Grand finale that will take place at Kampala Serena Hotel come the September 9, 2023 where she will be competing with pageant winners from other regions for the nation prize.
At the grand finale, Miss Tourism Uganda winner takes home different prizes, including cash, a car, and a land title, among others.
Later in the year, Miss Tourism 2023/24 gets to represent Uganda in Miss Tourism International that takes place in Malaysia every year.
This year’s Miss Tourism under the theme ‘Greening Tourism’, has been conducted in different regions with each region crowning a winner who will represent at National level.
