Bebe Cool

The musician said talent should not be overtaxed because the industry creates more jobs, which at the end of the day means more taxes.

“I am very sure the intention is to maximise tax collection, and this can be achieved by widening the tax base. But this can be achieved by not over taxing talent. You can in fact start by encouraging professionalism in the industry (arts). With this, more jobs are created and more jobs mean more taxes,” he stated.

The Gagamel boss further called upon the tax man to sensitise the stakeholders about tax payments through seminars and let the stakeholders teach them exactly how the industry works in Uganda, which would help in the Implementation of taxes that would not financially discourage the development of talent.
