Joshua Baraka’s Nana song is a manifestation that one hit can not only move you places but make you the necessary connections, earn you bookings and perhaps get you accolades.

Baraka has so far been to Rwanda, Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, among other places and on Saturday evening he was one of the headlining acts at the monthly Jameson and Friends event that took place at Design Hub in Industrial Area alongside The Mith.

By 5pm, gates were already open with activities including board games, cards, among other games happening inside while those who love their drinks had already kicked it off while enjoying DJ Tony. His session lasted two hours and was followed by Double Black Band, who served revellers with some of the best reggae covers.

After him, DJs Jefas and Kasbaby took over back to back mostly playing Afrobeats and Amapiano mixing in some local jams as people were still accessing the venue.

By 10pm, the venue was already full and security manning the entrance was instructed to stop letting in people.

Joshua Baraka was announced to be the next act on stage at 10:50pm and the crowd, especially the ladies, could not hold themselves from shouting.

There was no holding back at this moment as the latest kid on the block took them on a sprint of his songs, especially those on his previous EPs Watershed and Baby Steps, including Angel of Mine, Let Me Love, Be Me, Tina, Belinda, I do, and Tewekweka (acoustic) but it was Nana that got everyone singing along and dancing. He took turns doing both the original and the remix.

The bar had been raised and it was up to The Mith to keep it up.
