The restaurant sector was one of the most hit sectors during the pandemic and to rejuvenate the sector, a number of avenues have been created, with the latest being the Taste of Kampala which is going to be an annual event where customers have enjoyable experiences, with 50 restaurants celebrated and supported for their unique cuisines and ambiance.
According to Sylvester Lalum, the country representative for Eatout, the proprietors of Taste of Kampala, the move is intended to rejuvenate the restaurant sector.
“We are trying to rejuvenate the restaurant sector because it touches so many other attributes such as agriculture, transportation and employment. So we feel if we can massage these people well, then it will encourage the general growth of the economy,” he stated.
More than 50 restaurants that offer casual dining, first service, fine dining and restaurants in hotel categories will feature. The remarkable culinary affair that started at The Maze Restaurant in Mbuya will last for 10 days in different restaurants across the city.
