Musician Ibrahim Mayanja commonly known as Big Eye has accused his fellow artiste Edirisa Musuuza also known Eddy Kenzo for financing people who pelted bottles at him while performing at Freedom City.
The incident happened on June 9 as the musician prematurely performed his “Tusasaanya” song at his colleague Patrick Mulwana alias Alien Skin’s “Sitya Danger” concert.
On the fateful, the musician was forced to leave the stage by bouncers as plastic bottles continued flying towards him from some fans in the audience who kept on shouting at him to leave the stage.
Before he left the stage, Big Eye was seen pleading to the audience, telling people that he is now their friend but all in vein.
In a press release issued by Big Eye on Tuesday afternoon, he expressed his disappointment that he could not complete his performance due to what he called a “planted group” of individuals staged in different corners of Freedom City to pelt bottles at him with an aim of tarnishing his brand.
“This was planned and financed by a bad mind and shallow minded fellow musician who thinks he can put Big Eye down to quit the carrier. We have already collected enough evidence and information about it and that person is none other than Eddy Kenzo,” said the Big Music Entertainment boss.
“As a musician, I uphold to your endless support and love you always offer to me as well as Big Music Entertainment in particular amidst such inhuman behavior,” Big Eye added as emphasized that he is “looking forward to continue entertaining his fans.”
The incident at Freedom City is the most recent one to happen to the musician while performing at an event. Big Eye was interrupted when bottles were pelted at him while entertaining fans during fellow artiste Hajara Namukwaya alias Spice Diana’s Concert at the same venue on January 17, 2020
The very first time Big Eye was humiliated is such a manner was when he was performing at an event organised at Uganda Museum in Kitante on January 1, 2020. Other musicians who have also faced the wrath of fans in a like manner include Moses Ssali alias Big Size Bebe Cool and Catherine Kusaasira. The vice of pelting bottles to these musicians has always been attributed to their political affiliation with the ruling party.
