Recognition of any individual in whatever form it may come always resonates with the kind of effort made by that person to fulfil a specific task.
Speaking about the recognition, Uganda’s audio producer Owori Isaac also known as SteyN music from Banq Records has been recognised by the Grammy Recording Academy for his participation as a producer on the Grammy Award-nominated recording dubbed “Gimme Love” by Matt B featuring Big Talent Entertainment boss Edirisa Musuuza alias Eddy Kenzo.
This particular recording enabled Eddy Kenzo to scoop his first-ever Grammy nomination as the awards happened for the 65th time in 2022. The song “gimme love” was nominated under the category of Best Global Music Performance together with Burna Boy’s “last last”, “Neva bow down” by musician Rocky Dawuni from Ghana and the award-winning “Bayethe” by Nomcebo Zikode, Zakes Bantwini and Wouter Kellerman from South Africa.
Overly joyed by his certificate of recognition, producer SteyN wrote on his Facebook account saying: “Grateful to the Recording Academy for this incredible honor. This certificate is a testament to the hard work and dedication that goes into creating music. Thank you for recognizing my contribution to the industry.”
SteyN started learning to play musical instruments like the piano while he was still an infant, he then started playing the instrument in church while in Primary Four.
The young audio producer started producing music professionally in 2017. His breakthrough song was “sekkle down” by Beenie Gunter. SteyN music is also the brain behind songs like “Tweyagale” by Eddy Kenzo, Enjoyment by Rickman Manrick and Eddy Kenzo, “Mataala” by Winnie Nwagi, No letting go by Beenie Gunter featuring Lydia Jasmine among others.
